THE BRIEF
Vici Italian is a new iteration of an expanded existing tenancy. The previous restaurant needed an upgrade and a new brand, while retaining the hardest working parts of the existing kitchen. Spanning little Stanley St to Grey St in South Bank, the restaurant gives the opportunity for two entrances, and multiple food and bar offers and personalities through the site.
OUR APPROACH
We reclad kitchen and bar joinery with new tiling where possible, and replaced joinery and materials carefully – the goal was to get the best impact possible without major works. The floors were polished and outdoor banquette joinery added.
A new deli was built that could service the day time lunch crowd, which tucks away behind a theatrical blue curtain at night time – and is transformed into a cocktail bar.
THE RESULTS
The result is a vibrant Italian eatery that can offer differing atmospheres from breakfast to evening cocktails.
